Malacca-born Rev. Kelvin Sim has been ministering since 1988. He pioneered the Church of Praise in the southern Malaysian city of Johor Bahru for 17 years from 1988 till 2005 before answering his “Macedonian call” to help rebuild a church in Melbourne, Australia. He moved to Melbourne with his family in October 2005 and served in ‘Australia for Christ Fellowship’ as a senior pastor till February 2008. After that, he planted a new church, Life Solution Christian Church (LSCC).

Kelvin came to know the Lord Jesus Christ when he was 19 years old. Two years later, upon completing a personal study on the Book of Haggai and the Book of Nehemiah, he felt a strong call of God in his life for full-time ministry and subsequently answered the clarion call by enrolling in the Bible College of Malaysia where he completed a Diploma in Theology. While pioneering the Church of Praise, he went on to complete a Bachelor of Theology in 1999 and eventually his Master in Ministry from the Theological Centre for Asia in Singapore in 2003.

At the moment, Kelvin spends the bulk of his time building and establishing his new work (LSCC) but also finds time to help other churches move forward in their walk with God in the power of the Holy Spirit. His life’s maxim clearly articulates his perspective of who Jesus is to mankind. In John 11:25, Jesus said, “Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live again.” This, as Kelvin put it, means that God’s grace is sufficient for all of us to live again meaningfully (in spite of our fallen nature). Thus, one should not live life frivolously. This has been constantly implied in his preaching and teaching.

Kelvin has been preaching, training and equipping Christian leaders in Asia and the Asia Pacific for many years. Part of his long-term plans include the establishment of a church-planting Bible institute and a pre-school English programme for Third World countries. He is married to his lovely wife, Irene and they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren
